RAF Boreham

RAF Boreham is located in Essex. The airfield was always known locally as : "Boreham Airfield". The airfield is located approximately 4 miles north-northeast of Chelmsford; about 30 miles northeast of London.

Opened in 1944, it was used by the United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as bomber and a troop transport airfield for paratroopers. After the war it was closed in late 1945.
